Word is that the way to a man’s heart is his stomach. In that case, it’s a good thing that food is the main draw for these Father’s Day weekend events. Honor the king in your life with this roundup of five (plus one) events to celebrate Dad in Charlotte on June 16-18.

Father’s Day Brunch

NASCAR Hall of Fame
Sunday, June 18 at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $45 Adults, $35 Children, Free for children under 2

Gather your entire pit crew together for a Father’s Day to remember at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Your special Father’s Day ticket covers admission to the Hall, a savory brunch, ice cream sundae bar and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Vault. Finish the day with a complimentary photo of the entire family.

Celebrate Father’s Day weekend with fun activities for the whole family, a guided hike and bourbon tasting. Food trucks will serve up tasty fare and beer and wine will be available for purchase. All fathers receive free admission. Designed to reflect Billy Graham’s journey from a humble farm boy to an international ambassador as America’s Pastor, the barn-shaped building of the 20-acre Billy Graham Library is miles away from where Billy Graham actually grew up in Charlotte. Families are welcome to treat their father or grandfather with complimentary doughnuts and a special gift. Afterwards, have lunch at the Graham Brothers Dairy Bar or tour through The Journey of Faith exhibit that depicts the inspiring journey of Billy Graham’s life.

Summer Pops: Star Wars The Music

Symphony Park at South Park Mall

Cost: $14 Adults, $7 Students, Free for children 12 and under

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Star Wars movie franchise. Quote “Luke, I am your father” and experience a journey to a galaxy far, far away as the Charlotte Symphony plays musical highlights by composer John Williams that span all seven films. Parking is free, and gates open at 5 p.m. A prelude performance by Woodie and the String Pullers will begin at 7 p.m. New this season: Pre-order a chef-curated picnic basket from Reid’s Fine Foods before the concert, or purchase a selection of meats, cheeses, sandwiches, salads, desserts, wine and beer from them at the show.

Brew Stash Bash  

U.S. National Whitewater Center
Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Cost: $5 Parking / $6 for one sample card (Four 4 oz. samples per card)

Dog dads – this is for you! USNWC will host their 6th annual Brew Stash Bash, featuring live music and an impressive selection of the nation’s top craft beers and local favorites. Before you sip, kick off your morning with yoga and Brew Stash Breakfast. The Brew Dash 6K Trail Race will also have a competition and recreational heat. Craft beer sampling goes from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., and live music is provided by four different bands.
