#Charlottesgotalot Photo of the Month

posted by Chelsea Galusky May 30, 2017

Charlotte is a city where you instantly feel at home, and that sense of home is depicted daily through socially shared #Charlottesgotalot posts from our residents and visitors. Each month, we’ll dive deeper into the story behind one such #Charlottesgotalot Instagram photo and the photographer behind the lens (or smart phone).

Anna Egeln

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am originally from Florida but after coming to North Carolina for college at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, I fell in love with the Carolinas! I am a beach girl at heart, but something about being in a city, close-ish to the beach and the mountains caught my attention. You can usually find me fueling my love/hate relationship with running through Freedom Park or doing yoga and drinking a beer at a brewery with friends. I love to explore and thankfully Charlotte has yet to run out of places or new events for me to experience. Fun fact: Charlotte is officially the longest city I have lived in as an adult.

What’s the story behind this photo?

I love to go to live events, whether it be sports, music or food related, especially when I am handed a free ticket! I was given a last minute ticket to the Charlotte Knights game from a co-worker. I am so glad I decided to go because it turned out to be such a gorgeous KNIGHT.

Favorite places for Instagram-worthy photos in Charlotte?

l live within walking distance to Freedom Park, so that’s definitely one of my favorites. The Charlotte Rail Trail is great for handstand/jumping and skyline pics. The roof-top bars in Plaza Midwood and even the top of the parking garage of the Metropolitan has perfect Charlotte views.

Favorite thing to do in Charlotte?

I enjoy being a new Carolina Panthers fan, yoga at the brewery, food or wine festivals, pop-up shops, and definitely brunch. Charlotte has some great brunches!

What’s on your Charlotte bucket list – what haven’t you done yet, but you’d like to soon.

I still need to “check out” a Charlotte Checkers game. I want to “hangout” at Treehouse Vineyards. Since I work at a golf school, I am very excited for Top Golf to open. I have yet to go to Carowinds – I’m not a huge roller coaster fan, but I hear they sell funnel cakes!
